Instructional Design & Educational Consulting
I completed my Master of Distance Education in October 2002. The primary focus of the degree is on the fields of distance education and training - learning that helps students overcome the barriers of time and space. Through the MDE, I was provided with the opportunity to learn in a wide variety of subject areas and formats, and I was given the ability to adapt to the increasingly sophisticated field of distance education.
Subject areas I concentrated on were International Issues (specifically, national development and the feasibility of high tech learning in developing nations such as South Africa), learner support, and e-learning strategies (such as computer-mediated communication and related asynchronous and synchronous programs).
